Weekly Log #5

Part of the “New Year” thing. Kinda, anyway. This is partly in solidarity with @thebibliofeels, but it’s something I need to do, as well.

It’s so easy to tell oneself that, “oh, I didn’t have the time today to write,” when the simple truth is, “There was a movie I wanted to watch, and then I had lunch with my friends, and then I was watching Youtube videos, and lost track of time…” When you start a writing log, and you look back at what actually got in your way, you start realizing that, well…the only thing that was in your way, was you.

I’m no different, but that’s something I’m working on, and this is step one of that: pinpointing the problem. What are the greatest distractions, and how can I cut back on them.

Feel free to chime in when/if you notice something you’re guilty of as well. We can all learn from each other.

My Favorite Prompts..

I really need to remember to go back and do a few of these.

The Biblio Feels

Hiya friends, welcome back. This past week, I barely wrote anything that wasn’t for school. Have you ever had that moment where you realize you’re missing something? That’s what it was like for me this week, writing is an outlet for me, a way to express the stuff I’ve experienced and keep it from overpowering my mind.

I remember writing little short stories when I was younger, they were always full of light and happiness. It wasn’t until I was 19 that things changed, where there had been light was only darkness. Fear, sadness, and anger overtook freedom, happiness, and calm. Even with all the changes one thing stayed solid, I was still writing.

It’s clear by now that I’m a bibliophile, I spend a good chunk of my time reading (even when it cuts into other things…like sleeping). But, for me writing can give me the same escape, and…

[Reblog] As of today… my New Years Rez is fulfilled :)

Almost three years ago now, my sister’s husband died suddenly overseas. She’s been struggling, understandably, but she’s trying to find her footing again. Slowly, but surely, she’s getting there.

The three year anniversary of his death this year falls on Father’s Day. If anyone feels up to it, send her some love and/or support here:

BANG, BANG, BANG

I told ya’ll she was accusing me of nefarious things!

The Biblio Feels

Hiya friends, welcome back to my adorable and random little corner of the internet. I have a problem, and we need to talk about it. K-pop! I am hoofin addicted and I’m not even mad. I completely blame this recent addiction on Tiff (you can follow her here…go tell her I sent you and remind her that this is all her fault).

Gangnam.jpg Psy says, “You know you dance like a fool to my song. Welcome to k-pop!”

Let’s start from the beginning with this. Tiff and I have been swapping music back and forth for a little while now, and she constantly sends me random Korean pop music videos, everything from MBLAQ to Shinee. Not gonna lie, every video she sent me was incredible – the level of creativity and work that goes into them is just unmatched. One night she sends me this video and as usual, I…

Update: On Zombies and School.

One of these days, I will fall into a regular posting schedule. Maybe. Eventually…you realize I can hear you laughing all the way from here, right?

Right, well, anyway. Some of you may have noticed that only the first five chapters of “Say ‘No!’ to Zombies” are still available. This is because SNtZ has reached a critical stage: querying. Image result for querying

Yup. That’s right. I have officially begun to send my baby out to the scary world of publishers and agents. Currently, I still plan on posting the sequel, “Don’t Feed the Trolls,” to this blog and the associated ArchiveOfOurOwn account, but that may also change. I make no promises on that front, beyond that I will try to keep you all updated. On that note, right now, the best place to go for updates is my Twitter.

Looking forward, you will also be seeing a lot of changes going on around here. A new look, new content, pages reorganized, etc.. It’s part of my coursework this semester, which is good news for you guys, and not so great news for me. I always struggle with what to write here – a common enough struggle, from what I understand – but I like getting good grades, so. Fun times ahead for all of us.

For those of you wondering when I’ll start posting “Don’t Feed the Trolls” chapters, I am aiming for Thursday, September 20th.
