[Update] C’est mi vie.
Sorry everyone, I know it’s been a while. I was finishing up my last term as a full-time student, and was having some major issues with the final. I am happy to report, however, that all that is over. I am now a part-time student, and trying to get back into the swing of things.
This past month has been rather interesting, so this is going to be a long post. For the TL;DR people, here you go:
Yeah, this is one of those things I just have no luck with, lol. As I’ve mentioned, oh, about a hundred or so times, my right eye is basically useless. It just sits in its socket, looking pretty – and don’t get me wrong, it does a damn good job of it – but it’s absolute crap when it comes to seeing things. I wanted to find out just how bad things are, so I set up an appointment for a “visual acuity” test, I think it’s called. I was supposed to find out how much of my peripheral vision is actually compromised, but the doc ended up getting sidetracked with a “blemish” on my right eye. He’s not sure what it is, but he wants to make sure it’s not cancerous, especially considering the tumor they removed from the other eye, which means I now have an appointment for an MRI and then a date with a cornea specialist. Yay, me!
On the plus side, since it is my right eye, I’m not all that concerned. The doc was saying that this could be something that will take over my entire field of vision in that eye. I pointed out that it’s not like I would be missing out on much, but he doesn’t agree. All I can say is I wish them the best of luck if they want to do a biopsy. Needles? That close to my face? Nope.
On top of that, I got to talk to the doctor who did the original surgery, and he said that the tear gland for my left eye will not ever work right again. It might get a little bit better, but it’s not likely. I’m okay with that, but it makes cutting onions absolutely hell.
You guys have no idea how weird it feels to be part-time. I wrote out my planner with this term’s assignments, and I have to keep reminding myself that I’m not missing anything – that this really is the only work I have to do this 8 weeks. I’ve been making it my goal to have all of my coursework done by friday night so I could go to my gas station job without having to stress about any assignments left over. This week, I could’ve been done Wednesday, but I took a day and a half off to play games and clean. Such a weird feeling.
Well, okay this is the by far the least interesting thing to update you all on. I mean, there’s a lot going on, but I can’t update anyone on it yet, because it’s not my story to tell yet. All I’m going to say is to please keep your fingers crossed.
Still need help, so if any of you can donate $5, that would be amazing ♥, but there is a pretty good update! I’m working on cleaning out my credit cards to use for the needed surgery, and I now have an additional $1,250 I can apply to the amount, plus $600 in savings. That brings me down to needing $7,950.
Still a huge number, but it’s starting to feel a bit more doable.
I’ve had to put off editing “Say ‘No!’ to Zombies” for now, and I haven’t had a chance to look over “Don’t Feed the Trolls” to remember where I am yet. That is next on my “to do” list. I had planned on working on it while my roommates were on vacation, but there were some unforeseen events that popped up and put a kibosh on that idea.
My new week of coursework begins on Monday, and then my MRI is on Wednesday, so I probably won’t get a chance to start working on re-reading until Thursday at the earliest. Since I work Friday-Sunday, there isn’t much point in me even bothering with it then, so it might have to wait til next Wednesday. My current goal is to have something new for everyone ready for the first week of April (another thing to keep your fingers crossed for).
For everyone in a k-pop fandom: JFC, things are a mess right now, aren’t they? As hard as it is for some of us to realize our faves aren’t the people we thought they were, imagine how much more difficult it must be for the victims. Stay strong, and remember to lean on each other while we wait for the dust to settle.
- My eyes are stupid. It might be cancer, it might not be.
- School still sucks, but not as much
- New chapter coming soon
- Got $5 to spare?
- Life is [Redacted].
- K-pop fandom is a mess right now.
Until next time!
